Plot
The game started in France in 1944, where two US troops were attacked by HYDRA troops. Captain America arrived to rescue them and managed to repel Hydra forces before contacting Howard Stark in connection with the new threat.
When communicating with Peggy Carter, Captain America learned that the ammunition discovered from the battle came from the Bavarian mountains based on the rare metal used. Captain America gets a brief explanation of the Project: Master Man and how Dr. Arnim Zola has unlocked the secrets of the human genome as a step towards immortality. He plopped down in a village near the castle and turned off the anti-air forces so Invaders could enter the village. He then proceeded to the armory to destroy weapons before being sold to the Nazis.
While the American Captain made his way through enemy troops led by Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker, he was shocked by Strucker, who managed to knock him unconscious as both fell from the bursting tower. Captain America was then taken to Zola's laboratory by Iron Cross and saw Madam Hydra giving orders for an analysis of the Captain America's shield. After talking briefly about how his blood was taken, Zola showed his new project involving more test subjects containing Super Warrior Serum from Captain's blood. He immediately breaks free and proceeds through the base to destroy Zola's experimental samples for Super Army troops. He learned that some of his friends were being held near his present location. As he made his way to save Dum Dum Dugan and Falsworth, Zola's experimental Super Army fled.
After releasing Dugan, he chases after Mrs Hydra who has taken Falsworth. He caught her and on the exchange, but she managed to escape. Captain America decided to pursue Red Skull instead, which is intended to use Cosmic Cube to activate Sleeper. Captain America used a train to get into Zola's special laboratory where he built Sleeper. Red Skull arrives wanting the enhanced Super Zola Soldier's serum from Captain's blood. Captain America followed and destroyed the sample, making Red Skull order Iron Cross to kill him. Captain America beat Iron Cross and chased the Skull, only for Sleeper who wakes up and destroys the lab. Zola escapes and activates the robot body for later use. Captain America wakes up and finds his location map, using it to search for Falsworth.
After finally finding Falsworth, the Zola robot arrives and tries to kill Captain America. After defeating Zola Bot, he freed Falsworth. Falsworth reveals that something big is under ground that even planes can not stop. Captain America walked into the yard to face Sleeper who shot one of the planes. With Dugan's help, he managed to destroy Sleeper. After escaping from the bursting castle, Captain America meets with Bucky, Dugan, and Falsworth.
In post-credit Arnim Zola unplugs from Zola Bots he defeated. The Red Skull ordered him to return to work, stating that they would soon see the Captain America again.
