Gang-run printing describes a printing method in which multiple printing projects are placed on a common sheet of paper in an effort to reduce paper printing and wastage costs. The walkway is commonly used with sheet-fed printing and the CMYK process of color work, which requires four separate plates loaded into the press. It takes up to 250 sheets to be "ready," which is the process of making the ink slab and ink levels properly adjusted.

The printer uses the term "gang run" or "gang" to describe the practice of placing multiple print projects on the same sheet or pitching a project on a blank and unused portion of a printed sheet. Feeding sheets are generally "full sheets" (28 "x 40"), "half sheets" (28 "x 19"), or "quarter sheets" (13 "x 19"). In offset printing, the first sheet costs more than the next 1000. Gang-run printing allows a lot of work to share setting costs. For example, a 28 "x 40" sheet can hold 9 4 "x 6" on 5,000 or 18 2,500 postcards (each card requires 4.25 "x 6.25" on the sheet to accommodate printing.) Gang-run printing has become one of the driving forces in the huge decline in prices for colorful printing.

Benefits

  • Very economical - many print jobs share the same print, which reduces workforce, plates, preparation time, and the wash work press.
  • Reduce waste - less paper is not used.

Loss

  • Lack of paper stock options - You should select common paper shares for all projects on the same sheet
  • Lack of color control - color balance on gang printing is difficult to maintain. Because so many other print projects are placed side by side, gang print projects are more difficult to control for color quality problems
  • Ghosting - because the adjacent project may have heavy solid colors that may affect your final results
  • It's hard to accommodate special print counts - usually
  • Reprinting more expensive costs - canceling print jobs from sample plates means reproducing unwanted copies of adjacent projects sharing the same sheet or plate
  • It's harder to get a custom color or cut - by the nature of the labor press, it's harder to get special spot colors, varnish effects, or coatings.
  • Time issues - gang printing customers usually have to be more patient with their clients, as it takes more time and effort to coordinate all the work through the singer's viewer.

Restrictions

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns to know the potential of foreign packages , which may come from gang printing in package suppliers. Pharmaceutical labels and packing materials are higher due to the additional costs in manufacturing due to separation, traceability, and security requirements. You can not run gangs pharmaceutical labels that require the permission of a fine line between the types of labels, unless the labeling of ganged sheets is distinguished by size, shape, or color (21 CFR Part 211.122f ).
