Fat-resistant paper is a paper that is oil-resistant or plump and is usually used in cooking or food packaging. Usually fatty-resistant paper is produced by repairing the paper stock and thus making the sheets with very low porosity. This sheet is supercalecered to further increase the density, creating a paper called glassine. Glassine is treated with starch, alginate or CMC in the size of the press to fill pores or treat paper chemically to make it fatty rejects. The basic weight is usually 30-50 g/mÃ,ò.
In Australia, Greaseproof paper is also referred to as SKAN Greaseproof.
