KapStone Paper and Packaging is an American paper and paper pulp company based in Northbrook, Illinois.
The company has kraft paper manufacturing facilities in Roanoke Rapids, NC, Cowpens, SC, North Charleston, SC and Longview, WA, a wood mill in Summerville, SC, 21 corrugated boxes and corrugated fiberboard plants and 65 packaging distribution centers. It has about 6,200 employees.

The company originally started as a special-purpose acquisition company in 2005. It became a continuing business concern when it acquired the Roanoke Rapids paper kraft factory from International Paper in January 2007. In July 2008, it acquired the Charleston kraft paper mill from MeadWestvaco..
In 2010, the company was ranked fifth in Fortune Magazine's list of the 100 Fastest Growing Companies. In 2011 it made the list again, ranked 20th fastest growing. In October 2011, KapStone was ranked # 10 on the Forbes list at 100 Best Small Companies.
On October 31, 2011 KapStone acquired U.S.Corrugated, Inc.
On July 18, 2013 KapStone acquired Longview Fiber Paper and Packaging from Brookfield Asset Management.
On June 1, 2015, KapStone acquired Victory Packaging, headquartered in Houston, TX.
On August 27, 2015 members of the West Pulp and Paper Workers' Association at Longview paper mill KapStone went on a 10-day strike over stalled contract negotiations.
On January 29, 2018 KapStone announces that it has agreed to be acquired by WestRock competitor and paper company. The deal is expected to close by the end of the third quarter of 2018.
