Greetings of Recycled Paper, Inc. (RPG) is a Chicago based greeting card company founded by Phil Friedmann and Mike Keizer in 1971. They became successful as one of the first greeting card companies to print their products on recycled paper, and gave recognition to their artists by putting their name on the card.
The designs made by Sandra Boynton became very famous, especially the birthday card "Hippo Birdie Two Ewes" it. This design style is finally adopted by the competition and common today. Artists such as Mary Melcher, Cynthia Bainton (grandson of Roland Bainton), Bjorkman Brothers, Kathy Davis, Dan Reynolds, David Walker, Susan Allen, Vicky Barone and cartoonist Cathy Guisewite also produce or have produced greeting cards through RPG. The Product Development Group of Andrews McMeel Publishing also contributed significantly to RPG offerings through an original concept line called Zero Gravity and renowned licenses such as Napoleon Dynamite, Little Miss Sunshine and cartoon panel < i> Close to Home .
