Royale is a Canadian brand of consumer household paper products such as facial tissue, toilet paper, paper towels, and paper napkins.

In 1929, the New York-based National Cellulose Company broke ties with Canadian distributors and opened its first Canadian office in downtown Toronto In 1936, Toronto businessman William S. Gibson and a team of investors purchased Cellulose National and Cellulose Dominion were established. Dominion Cellulose continued to sell its Facelle network in Canada until 1961 when it was sold to the Canadian International Paper Company and renamed the Facelle Company. Facelle Company launched its Royale brand in 1963 with two products; 3-ply facial tissue, and 2-tier bathroom network.
In August 1991 the Royale brand was sold to Procter & amp; Gambling where it remained until 2001 when Irving Tissue bought P & amp; G's Weston Road plant in Toronto, Ontario along with the rights to the Royale brand.

The Royale Kittens
The Royale brand is represented by Royale Kittens, two white Persian kittens that embody the softness of Kitten-y Royale products. They first appeared in a 1973 television commercial that lasted until 1984. Since then, kittens have appeared on television, print, and Internet marketing materials for Royale. In 2010, the official Facebook community page was created in the name of Kitten Royale.

The longest TV commercial campaign in the Royale runs from 1973 to 1984, and features Royale Kittens playing on white-made carpets and rolls of toilet paper rolls. Other memorable campaigns include the place "The Nose" in Royale featuring pro hockey player Eddie Shack.
